  • Model release available | German investor Dr. Lothar Hardt: ASIA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, EMIRATE DUBAI, DUBAI, 09.02.2010. The German investor is suing Damac Properties for alleged breach of contract in what could be the largest lawsuit taken by an individual against a Dubai developer. Lothar Hardt has filed his case against one of the region’s biggest developers and four of its executives at the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts. The DIFC courts follows English common law and, unlike the main Dubai courts system, allows foreign lawyers to represent clients and cases to be heard in English. Mr. Hardt is one of Damac’s “VIP investors”. Here he stands at Business Bay in central Dubai, where he made an off-plan investment into the Water’s Edge project - which until this day has not yet materialized.

  • Policeman-turned-entrepreneur Josef Kleindienst: ASIA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, EMIRATE DUBAI, DUBAI, 17.03.2010. Mr. Kleindienst is the owner the Kleindienst Group, a Dubai-based real-estate company. In 2007 Kleindienst Properties acquired six of the total 300 islands as part of the highly prestigious Nakheel Project "The World". They went on to create "The Heart of Europe" a holiday and leisure paradise along the coast of Dubai. A unique complex, made up of luxury hotels, designer villas, holiday apartments and shops. Here, Mr. Kleindienst is showing visitors the island of Germany. The UK can be seen in the background. Construction on Germany has not started yet, but Mr. Kleindienst claims that 11 out of 20 planned villas have so far been sold. In the background is the island of Monto Carlo. The World can only be reached by boat.
