Motorcycling in Tehran

The roads of Tehran are a dangerous territory. Every driver follows his own rules. And while driving in a car in Tehran is already nerve-wracking, there is a progression to this: to maneuver the streets by motorcycle - a life and death experience. Motorcyclist are taking advantage of the full space - including the sidewalks. Usage of helmets seems not to be a widespread practice. However, for women the wear of the abaya - or at least of a headdress - is compulsory.
